Bilics tactical awareness??
Does he have any?

This season has been a pretty eratic season under our new manager, with some terrific results against the big teams but some terrible results against the lower teams.

Do we have to accept that this is just the way we will be under Bilic or is it just because of a freak season in the Premier League?

You all know my views on Bilic, far to inexperienced in my opinion to take control of our team in the position we are in, but so far we have got away with it. But I think it will catch up with us in the end. There are some worrying signs in Bilic not noticing certain tactical situations and players fatigue. He seems to set his team out pretty much the same every game which has seen us trying to be a counter attacking side in almost every game this season even at home games that we should be dominating. He's been given a good squad to work with this season and our football has been decent in patches but mostly poor, with our lack of movement off the ball the biggest worry.

The honeymoon period is coming to an end and I think how we finish the season will really give us an idea of Bilics credibility as a premier league manager.

Well at least it makes a change for the site jester to switch his obsessive attention away from Mark Noble for 5 minutes! Obviously farts thinks he would be more tactically astute as our Manager, than Bilic is; God help us!

All of the 7 or 8 point argument with us is moot though, Allardyce missed out on a Champions League place by 3 points in 2004/2005.

I think Allardyce has other concerns at the moment? Like what factor oil to use.

He had us 8 points off at the same stage.

Yes, that's true, but what Ranieri and Howe have done so very successfully is to instil an extraordinary team spirit in their players. One for all and all for one. Plus some pizza."

Ain't that what Bilic has done (minus the pizza as far as I know)?

I reckon he's the best since Lou Macari. Changed the whole ethos and atmosphere at the club. Morale in players and supporters is higher than Ive known since 1980.

Re: Bilics tactical awareness??
Of those games has ok, I'd say Spurs andcwatfird were the only ones we thoroughly deserved to be beaten in. We were terrible at Watford, but even the Spurs game was evenly balanced until we gifted them the lead.

Leicester would've been a different story if schmeichel had been sent off like he should have Ben just before half time, with us getting a penalty. And I wonder how vardys season would have gone if he'd been tightly sent off for his challenge in Adrian

Bournemouth at home was a train wreck for 45 mins, jenkinson and Cresswell were totally anonymous and they walked all over us. Yet we still git back on level terms and it was stupidity from jenkinson that lost it with his red card

Southampton clung on as we ran out of steam and ideas - no one deserves to win that game.

Newcastle was a game of 2 halves and we should have got back on level terms after the break

Annoyingly that string if games where we had all the injuries screwed us over, even though we went u beaten. We threw away leads against Everton (who should've been down to ten men fit the payet tackle, and it was that injury that head to their goal) villa (a homer penalty), west brom (very lucky deflection)

Man U away we deserved to win - they were very fortunate

In fact Swansea away is perhaps the only game where we've been second best and got anything from the game

Whilst our slow starts are worrying, bilic shows tactical nous to get us back into it and in fact a lot of games he's done that in we should have won (Sunderland away, jelavic somehow missing; emineke at the weekend; pulling a rabbit out the hat to turn the game second half against Southampton at home)

Bilic is brilliant, get jabbing and sakho back and then see how we do

Re: Bilics tactical awareness??
We are 7 points off a Champions League place with 12 games to go. Has Allardyce ever achieved that? Maybe he has, I can't be bothered to look it up - but I doubt it. And if anyone doesn't think having Sakho and Lanzini fit would have potentially been worth at least another 4 or 5 points if not more, they're mad. Of course the end of the season will show where we are, so will the start of next season, and so on. But I don't see how anyone can say the signs aren't encouraging. I see us finishing somewhere between 5th and 8th, and even if it's the latter (or for arguments sake 9th or even 10th), again, I struggle to see how anyone could say that the season taken as a whole has been anything other than a massive step forward.
